News: New font CD from Linotype - Linotype Library GmbH FontExplorer font library - Product Announcement - Brief Article

Linotype Library GmbH of Bad Homburg, Germany, will announce its free FontExplorer CD-ROM this week at Seybold Seminars New York 98.

Users can browse through fonts with what the company calls an "intuitive" search engine by entering abstract criteria such as "feminine" or "angular." Searches can also be performed based on criteria such as the designer`s name or the font`s x-height or slope.

Fonts can be unlocked via the Internet or a fax-back system; each font will cost $22.50, with discounts for volume purchases. The CD-ROM will be available immediately, Linotype said.
